The Alliance will hold a Student Parent Action Institute in advance of EdTrust-West’s 2026 Ed Equity Forum on September 22 in San Diego. Register by the early bird deadline, Friday, May 15, for a discounted rate.
In this interactive workshop, participants will enhance their knowledge and understanding of student parents through hands-on activities, facilitated discussions, and panels, including a powerful multigenerational panel featuring student parents and their children.
Participants will:
- Gain language, resources, and practical tools needed to uplift student parents on their campuses or in their organizations
- Deepen their understanding of current and emerging state advocacy efforts advancing equity for student parents
- Provide an in-depth overview of California’s student parent policy landscape, including the GAINS for Student Parents Act (AB 2458) and AB 2881, and strategies to support the law’s robust implementation on campus
Participants will leave the Institute Student Parent Ambassadors, earning a certificate and digital recognition on The Alliance’s website.
