The California Alliance for Student Parent Success hosted a panel discussion on the true costs of college for California’s student parents. This event was designed for legislative staff and members to hear directly from student parents about the financial barriers they face and the supports that help them navigate college and career pathways. We also shared research to inform policymaking around college affordability for this student population. This was a valuable opportunity to connect with legislative peers and experts, share ideas, and drive impactful change in our state.

After the panel, all attendees continued the conversation over refreshing drinks and appetizers at the Thirtyfour Mexican Cantina, conveniently located across the street.

The insights and contributions provided were essential as we continue our work together to create a brighter future for California’s student parents.

This event was sponsored by Michelson Center for Public Policy.
