Thank you for your interest and engagement in The California Alliance for Student Parent Success (The Alliance), which is led by California Competes: Higher Education for a Strong Economy and EdTrust-West with support from an Advisory Committee comprising student parents and field experts.

The Alliance supports the postsecondary success and comprehensive well-being of student parents and their families. We also wanted to share some good news that The Alliance’s first cosponsored bill, the GAINS for Student Parents Act (AB 2458), which addresses two of our core policy priorities (college affordability and data collection), will be heard in the Assembly Higher Education Committee on April 2, 2024. We need your help to uplift student parent needs and enable them to better afford college.

How We Work Together

This network is led by California Competes: Higher Education for a Strong Economy and The Education Trust–West with support from an Advisory Committee that includes student parents and other field experts. The Alliance’s diverse membership consists of organizations focused on a range of issues, including basic needs security and poverty elimination, child welfare, civil rights, economic development, health, housing, higher education, and social justice.
