Fostering collective action, knowledge exchange, and connection
By setting up opportunities for collaboration, we work to support and strengthen cross-sector efforts for systems change. Additionally, recognizing the efforts of student parents organizing at the campus and community levels, we strive to empower them with essential tools and impactful relationships to ensure their experiences and perspectives shape state policies.
We were honored to host the California Student Parent Summit 2025 from September 9-10 at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, in partnership with the Michelson 20MM Foundation, Ascend at the Aspen Institute, and Cal Poly’s Students with Dependents Program. This multi-day event convened policy experts, higher education practitioners, student parents, advocates, and student parent champions from across the state.
Participants had the opportunity to:
- Hear inspiring keynotes,
- Hear directly from student parents,
- Attend action-focused breakout sessions,
- Network with fellow advocates and practitioners,
- Gain insights on resources and services that support student parents, and
- Learn about the latest policy issues and proposals to support student parents.
